Lega Pallavolo Serie A
I created the new visual identity for Lega Pallavolo Serie A, redesigning the institutional brand that represents top-level Italian volleyball. The result is a modern, cohesive identity system that reflects the sport’s energy, clarity, and contemporary evolution.
After the approval of the new logo, the league’s internal team chose to independently adjust the typography and certain usage guidelines.
The work shown here reflects the visual direction and system I designed up to the approved stage.
ABOUT THIS CASE STUDY
The previous logo showed clear limitations: an outdated aesthetic, poor adaptability to digital formats, and reduced legibility at smaller scales.
Its structure didn’t align with a modern visual system, making it difficult to create consistency across the league’s touchpoints.
It also lacked the energy and dynamism needed to represent contemporary volleyball.
THE CHALLENGE

CONCEPT & NARRATIVE
This logo is built around the idea of energy and movement: the core elements that define volleyball and its fast, dynamic nature. The lines forming the letter “A” echo the trajectories of the ball, becoming a symbolic representation of play, momentum, and competition.
To introduce these concepts during the presentation, I created a concept video: an atmospheric piece designed as an opening cinematic for the new brand, conveying the spirit and motion behind the identity.

The rectangular shape of the cobranding “Patch” was designed to host the partner’s logotype while providing proper clear space and establishing a correct visual hierarchy with the Serie’s logo. The rounded shape and the separating arc echo the mother brand and its formal language.

The new identity was extended across all digital touchpoints: social content, match graphics, MVP formats, highlights, and the league’s website. A unified visual system ensures consistency, clarity, and a strong institutional presence across every platform.
